Mimosa flowers are said to symbolize joy, happiness and sensitivity and since 1946, have become a powerful emblem for femininity, strength, beauty and grace as it is the symbol for International Women’s Day.

It is seen as symbol of solidarity between not only women, but anyone fighting for equal rights. The tradition of giving Mimosa flowers on Women’s Day began in the early 20th century in Italy and continues to this day. Men give flowers to their mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, and other important women in their lives as a way of expressing their love and gratitude.

It is also a symbol of friendship and is often given as a gift to express love and appreciation for others.
