Love & Connection | Fertility | Feminine Power

According to Cherokee tradition, the Creator used the strawberry to reunite First Man and First Woman after an argument. Despite the Creator's attempts with various berries, it was the newly created strawberry that made First Woman stop and remember her love for First Man. She gathered strawberries, turned back, and they reunited, symbolizing love and connection.

In many different indigenous cultures, the strawberry, with seeds on its surface, symbolizes humans as seeds of Mother Earth and represents the connection between Sacred Earth and Sacred Self. It is used in ceremonies and as medicine, particularly for teaching young girls about womanhood and their feminine power, culminating in a celebratory gathering after a year-long berry fast. During Odeyimin Kizis (Strawberry Moon in June), the indigenous community unites for feasts and ceremonies, embracing healing, reconciliation, and the celebration of life and abundance.
