Hope | Overcoming obstacles | Birth flower for January
The snowdrop became the symbol of hope and the ability to overcome challenges when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Eve was about to give up hope that the cold winters would never end. An angel appeared and she transformed some snowflakes into snowdrop flowers, proving that winters do eventually give way to the spring.
‘And thus the snowdrop,
like the bow that spans the sky
becomes a symbol whence we know
That brighter days are nigh’
- George Wilson
